Nigeria Extends Condolences to India Over Air India Crash

The Nigerian government has expressed its condolences to India following the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The crash, which resulted in the loss of over 290 lives, has left the international community in mourning.

Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, conveyed the nation's profound sorrow in a statement released by ministry spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa. "Nigeria expresses profound sorrow and extends its heartfelt condolences to the government and people of India," Tuggar stated, emphasizing Nigeria's solidarity with India during this period of immense grief.

While preliminary reports suggest no Nigerian citizens were aboard the ill-fated flight, the Nigerian High Commission in New Delhi is maintaining close contact with Indian authorities to confirm this and to offer consular support if needed.

Tuggar reiterated Nigeria's commitment to global aviation safety and urged a thorough investigation into the crash to prevent future tragedies. He also extended sympathies to the families of the victims and all those affected by the incident.
