The Nigeria Police Force Zone 2 Command in Lagos has hosted a delegation from China’s Shandong Provincial Public Security Department as both sides moved to strengthen cooperation on intelligence sharing, cybercrime prevention and counter-terrorism strategies.
The delegation, led by Deputy Director of Daily Operations, Zhang Yuebo, visited the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, on Thursday as part of ongoing engagements aimed at boosting international policing collaboration and security partnerships.
Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, said the visit would further strengthen existing ties between the Nigeria Police Force and the Chinese security department, a relationship he noted has existed since 2019.
Jimoh said discussions during the visit focused on transnational crime prevention, intelligence sharing, cybercrime control, modern policing techniques and capacity building for officers.
He also conveyed the goodwill of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, while reaffirming the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing, professionalism, technological innovation and international cooperation.
The AIG commended the Shandong Provincial Public Security Department for supporting the training of officers attached to the Lagos and Ogun State Police Commands, saying the programmes had improved operational efficiency and professionalism within the force.
Speaking during the visit, Zhang appreciated the reception given to the delegation and stressed the importance of international partnerships in tackling transnational crimes and strengthening security operations.
The visit also featured strategic discussions on global policing practices and areas of future collaboration between both law enforcement institutions.
