Nigeria and the United States have begun high-level security talks in Washington, D.C., focused on strengthening counterterrorism cooperation and expanding bilateral security collaboration.
National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu is leading a delegation of senior Nigerian security and government officials at the United States-Nigeria Joint Working Group meeting.
The talks are reviewing progress in existing counterterrorism cooperation and identifying new areas for deeper security collaboration between both countries.
Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu is among the senior Nigerian security officials participating in the meeting.
The engagement comes as Nigeria and the United States continue efforts to strengthen coordination against terrorism and other security threats.
