Nigerian-British heavyweight boxing star Anthony Joshua was involved in a road traffic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State on Monday.
The incident occurred near the Sagamu Interchange in the Makun area, where the vehicle conveying the former world champion reportedly collided with a stationary truck along the busy highway.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were deployed to the scene shortly after the crash to manage traffic and commence investigations.
Sources say Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries and was conscious after the accident.
However, two persons were confirmed dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released by authorities.
Traffic movement along the expressway was affected for several hours as rescue and recovery operations were carried out.
