Nottingham Forest have confirmed the departure of Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo. In a statement, the club said Nuno has been relieved of his duties "following recent circumstances."
The Portuguese coach, who took charge in December 2023, oversaw a memorable 2024–25 campaign in which Forest finished seventh in the Premier League and secured Europa League qualification, their best top-flight finish in nearly three decades.
Forest thanked Nuno for his contribution and noted that he will "always hold a special place in our journey."
Sources suggest tensions had grown between Nuno and the club’s hierarchy in recent weeks, with the decision to part ways made after discussions over the team’s direction.
Former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has emerged as the frontrunner to replace Nuno. Sources indicate the Australian coach has already held talks with the club and is expected to be appointed soon.
