NRC Announces Special Sallah Train Services Nationwide

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has rolled out special train services across major routes to ease travel during Eid-el-Fitr.

Additional trips and increased capacity will run nationwide to meet the festive passenger surge.

On the Lagos-Ibadan corridor, three special trips will run on Thursday, March 19, 2026. From Mobolaji Johnson Station, Lagos, departures are at 7:40 a.m., 1:40 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. From Obafemi Awolowo Station, Moniya, Ibadan, trains leave at 8:00 a.m., 10:50 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.

This schedule is for one day only, with normal operations resuming afterward.

The Abuja-Kaduna route will have two trips on March 19, then three daily trips from Friday, March 20 to Monday, March 23.

The NRC is also partnering with the Osun State Government to run the Imole Special Train from Iddo Station, Lagos, to Osogbo.

The service will be free for Osun indigenes, with the NRC providing operational support.

On the Warri-Itakpe corridor, trains will run three times weekly: Warri to Itakpe on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 8:00 a.m., with return trips from Itakpe on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays at 12 noon. Thursdays are reserved for maintenance.

The Port Harcourt-Aba service on the Eastern narrow gauge will maintain its regular schedule.

The NRC assured passengers of safe, reliable services and urged travelers to plan ahead, arrive early, and follow ticketing and security procedures.

The corporation also wished Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr.
