Ogun Police Deploy 2,500 Personnel for 2026 Ojude Oba Festival

The Ogun State Police Command says it has deployed more than 2,500 personnel and specialised operational units to provide security during the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode.

In a statement, the command said the deployment includes officers from the Police Mobile Force, SWAT, Violent Crime Response Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit and other tactical formations.

The police also deployed Armoured Personnel Carriers, patrol vehicles, motorcycles, surveillance teams, undercover operatives and rapid response squads to strategic locations across Ijebu Ode and adjoining communities.

According to the command, security operatives have been stationed at the Ojude Oba Pavilion, highways, entry and exit points, hotels, worship centres, markets, motor parks and other public areas expected to witness heavy traffic during the festival.

Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said the deployment is aimed at ensuring crowd control, traffic management, intelligence gathering and rapid response to security threats before, during and after the celebration.

He directed area commanders, divisional police officers and tactical commanders to remain on maximum alert and intensify patrols and stop-and-search operations across the state.

The command also warned criminal elements to stay away from Ogun State, stressing that security agencies are prepared to deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt public peace.

Residents, visitors and festival participants were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
