The Oyo State Government has lifted the curfew earlier imposed on 10 local government areas following a recent kidnapping incident in Oriire.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Dotun Oyelade, the government said residents in the affected communities can now resume normal activities after days of movement restrictions.
The curfew was initially imposed for 16 hours and later extended by an additional day as security agencies responded to the incident.
Oyelade said the decision to lift the curfew followed improved security assessments and ongoing efforts to contain the situation.
He added that the government appreciates the cooperation of residents during the restriction period and urged continued vigilance as security operations remain active in the area.
The statement also assured residents that authorities are closely monitoring developments and working with security agencies to ensure lasting peace.
