The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress for the 2027 election, Peter Obi, says he may not be alive to contest the 2027 presidential election, alleging that the Nigerian Government is frustrating his activities and targeting opposition figures.
Speaking during an interview on With Chude, Obi said there was a possibility he might not even be alive before the next general election.
According to him, “Not even a candidate. I might not even be alive, every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating. Deliberately so.”
The former Anambra State governor said he was not making a direct accusation but claimed he experiences daily acts of obstruction.
Obi also alleged that members of the opposition are being singled out and denied privileges they are entitled to.
He cited a recent incident at an airport where he claimed officials locked his vehicle while other cars parked in the same area were left untouched.
The former Labour Party presidential candidate further claimed that some Nigerians now avoid greeting him publicly or inviting him to family events for fear of becoming targets.
The Federal Government is yet to respond to Obi’s latest allegations.
