Obi made the call in a post on X after visiting the camp on Tuesday, September 29, during a two-day visit to Sokoto State.
He said some residents were living in makeshift shelters and thatched rooms, with some rooms accommodating as many as 10 people.
Obi also said the camp lacked adequate toilet facilities, a primary healthcare centre and a basic school for children.
He called on the government to improve conditions in the camp while addressing the security challenges that forced the residents from their communities, to enable them to eventually return home.
Obi said the visit was his 12th to an IDP camp in Nigeria and pledged to continue supporting displaced Nigerians.
He also urged the government and relevant agencies to urgently address the needs of residents at the camp.
