The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested a 36-year-old suspected cultist and recovered a rubber-made pistol, an axe, criminal charms and a substance identified as “Ice” during an intelligence-led operation in Ikorodu.
The suspect, identified as Muyideen Olatunbosun, was arrested during an anti-crime patrol covering the Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu, according to a statement by the command.
Police said operatives received intelligence during the patrol and subsequently searched Olatunbosun, leading to the recovery of the items.
The command said Olatunbosun remains in police custody and is assisting with an ongoing investigation, while efforts are underway to arrest other suspected members of his alleged cult group.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for what he described as their vigilance and prompt response to credible intelligence.
Fatai reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustained intelligence-led operations against cultism and other criminal activities across Lagos State.
He also urged residents to provide timely and credible information to the police, saying public cooperation remains important in preventing crime and apprehending suspects.

The police said the investigation is ongoing.
