The Lagos State Police Command has cleared Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, of allegations that he brandished a firearm in public.
Adefarasin came under fire in June 2025 after a viral video showed him holding what appeared to be a handgun while driving in traffic. The clip sparked speculation that the cleric was pointing the weapon at the TikToker who recorded the video.
The pastor, however, denied the claim, insisting the object was not a firearm.
Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi confirmed on Wednesday that investigators had questioned Adefarasin and reviewed the incident.
“Findings revealed that the object seen in the viral footage was not a firearm but a stun gun, a non-lethal device,” Adebisi said.
He added that investigators found no grounds for prosecution. “Consequent on our findings, the command has determined that there are no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter. The case is hereby discontinued.”
