Police Rescue Couple After Unauthorized Climb To Empire State Building

New York police have rescued a couple who climbed to the top of the Empire State Building in an unauthorized stunt before getting engaged.

The New York Police Department released video showing Emergency Service Unit officers scaling the building’s spire to safely bring the pair down.

The couple, identified as Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, are featured in the Netflix documentary Skywalkers: A Love Story.

Authorities said the pair displayed a banner and got engaged at the top of the landmark before they were taken into custody.

Police have not yet announced the charges they may face over the incident.
