The Presidency has called for legal action against social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, over the circulation of an alleged fake audio involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the call in a post on X on Wednesday, accusing the influencer of spreading false information on social media.
According to Onanuga, the circulation of the alleged audio amounted to an abuse of social media platforms.
He insisted that the influencer should face the law for allegedly disseminating misleading content linked to the President.
The presidential aide reacted to comments by an X user questioning why some Nigerians believed the voice in the viral recording belonged to Tinubu.
In the video, VeryDarkMan reportedly used the alleged leaked audio to urge Nigerians not to support Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.
