Presidency Seeks Action Agsinst VeryDarkMan Over Alleged Fake Tinubu Audio

The Presidency has called for legal action against social media activist Martins Vincent Otse over the circulation of an audio recording allegedly falsely attributed to President Bola Tinubu.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga made the demand in a post on X, accusing Otse of disseminating what he described as a manipulated recording.

Onanuga said the incident amounted to an abuse of social media platforms and argued that those responsible should be held accountable.

The disputed audio, which circulated widely online, purportedly featured Tinubu making controversial remarks about insecurity, Nigerians’ economic prospects and opposition leader Peter Obi.

However, the Presidency has denied the authenticity of the recording, describing it as AI generated or doctored.

Through his lawyers at Deji Adeyanju & Partners, Otse denied creating or initially distributing the recording.

He also criticised the Presidency’s position, arguing that government attention should be focused on addressing security and governance challenges.
