President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called off the Presidential National Broadcast originally scheduled for June 12, opting instead to deliver his Democracy Day address from the National Assembly.
This change was announced on Wednesday by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information & Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, explained that the cancellation was due to President Tinubu's scheduled attendance at a joint session of the National Assembly on the same day.
"The president will deliver his address from the National Assembly," Imohiosen stated. "All other plans for the day remain unchanged."
The decision aligns with the National Assembly's invitation to President Tinubu, as it prepares to host him for a special joint session in honor of Democracy Day, which commemorates Nigeria's democratic progress and the historic 1993 elections.
