Six Killed as Lightning Strikes Farmers During Rainstorm in Adamawa

Six people have died after they were struck by lightning while working on a farm in Ganye Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The Adamawa State Police Command said the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday in Dadiri-Tirigali village during a heavy downpour.

Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said officers from the Ganye Divisional Headquarters were immediately deployed after receiving an emergency report of the incident.

According to the police, nine people were struck by lightning while working on the farm. Three of the victims regained consciousness, while six others were confirmed dead by medical personnel.

The police described the incident as a natural disaster and expressed sympathy to the families of the victims. Authorities have urged residents to take necessary precautions during severe weather conditions.
