South Africa and Nigeria are moving to strengthen diplomatic ties and cooperation, particularly on migration and people to people relations.
South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, disclosed this after a phone conversation with Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu.
Lamola congratulated his Nigerian counterpart on her appointment and reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between both countries.
He said both sides agreed to deepen collaboration across key areas, including stronger engagement between their citizens.
The ministers also discussed challenges linked to irregular migration and pledged to work together to address the root causes through coordinated and sustainable measures
