The National Sports Commission (NSC) has unveiled Team Nigeria’s Ambassadors ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, set for July 23 to August 2.
The roster includes experienced sports administrators Mallam Saleh Ahmadu, Dr. Amos Adamu, Chief Patrick Ekeji, Alhassan Yakmut, and Gbenga Elegbeleye, alongside former athletes Daniel Igali, Blessing Oborodudu, Tajudeen Ogunbade, Khadijat Sulaiman, and Victor Iroele.
Representatives from Premium Trust Bank and the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs, Wale Adeniyi, also join.
“The ambassadors bring experience, technical expertise, and athlete insight to strengthen Team Nigeria’s preparation,” said Dr. (Mrs.) Kehinde Ajayi, NSC Director of Press.
The Games will host thousands of athletes from 74 Commonwealth nations across ten sports, including athletics, swimming, boxing, cycling, and gymnastics, with full integration of para-sports.
The NSC said the ambassadorial initiative underscores its commitment to supporting athletes, enhancing preparation, and boosting Nigeria’s global sporting presence.
“With their guidance, we are confident Team Nigeria will make a strong impact in Glasgow,” Dr. Ajayi added.
