In a statement issued in Abuja on April 22, the Federal Government said the initiative will be implemented through a Community-Based National Social Action Fund Taskforce, with projects executed by verified local organisations to address priority needs.
The Federal Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Accountant-General have been directed to release funds into a dedicated intervention account for implementation and oversight.
Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Muhammad Ali Pate said the programme will support areas such as nutrition, health supplies, and basic infrastructure, adding that it places communities at the centre of development.
In a related development, Tinubu also approved the upgrade of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Training Centre in Zaria to a National Institute of Public Health and Infectious Diseases to strengthen disease surveillance, research, and emergency response capacity.
