Tinubu observes Eid prayers in Lagos; Atiku joins faithful in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday joined Muslim faithful for Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, alongside top government officials and political associates, as Muslims across Nigeria marked the celebration.

Among those with the President were his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa; and Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.

Special Assistant to the President on social media, Dada Olusegun, disclosed the development in a post on X.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State,” Olusegun wrote.

In Abuja, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar also joined Muslim worshippers at the AYA Mosque for Eid prayers.

Atiku said the prayers were offered in gratitude to Allah for His blessings and urged Nigerians to embrace unity and peace.

“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” he said in a post shared on his social media handle.

He also extended Eid greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, praying for lasting peace and prosperity in the country.
