Tinubu Preaches Unity, Responsible Politics in Easter Message

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians and political actors to act responsibly as the country approaches another electoral cycle, urging unity, peace, and continued support for ongoing reforms.

In his 2026 Easter message released on Friday, the President said the Easter season symbolizes sacrifice, resilience, and hope, noting that the message reflects Nigeria’s current realities as the country navigates economic and security challenges.

Tinubu acknowledged that insecurity remains a concern but assured Nigerians that his administration is strengthening security operations and international partnerships to tackle terrorism and banditry.

“Challenges to our security have remained, however, my administration continues to make resources available and forge foreign partnerships to enable us to deal decisive blows to the agents of terror and banditry,” he said.

Speaking on politics and the next election cycle, the President urged political parties and actors to conduct themselves responsibly and in line with the law.

“The Electoral Act must guide the conduct of our political parties and political actors, let our choices be guided by a shared commitment to peace, continuity, stability, and the long-term good of our country”.

On the economy, Tinubu maintained that ongoing reforms are necessary for long-term prosperity, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s economic direction.

“Economic indicators show we are making the right choices. A new dawn is on the horizon,” he added.

The President also urged Nigerians to remain united and support efforts to build a safer and more prosperous country, stressing that peace and unity remain essential for national development.
