Tinubu to Visit Adamawa on Monday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to undertake a one-day official visit to Adamawa State on Monday, for the commissioning of several completed infrastructure projects and the groundbreaking of new initiatives.

The Adamawa State Government has concluded arrangements to host the president, with Mr. James Iliya, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, confirming on Sunday that the visit reflects national recognition of the developmental strides achieved under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Mr. Iliya said the visit would showcase the state’s commitment to improving living standards through strategic investments across sectors such as education, infrastructure and governance.

Among the projects slated for inauguration are the newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a newly built model school in Yola North Local Government Area, part of a broader plan that includes 21 new model schools across the state.

President Tinubu is also expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a permanent NYSC orientation camp in Malkohi, commission an ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil an automated gate at the Government House, and dedicate the newly constructed Governor’s Office complex.

Officials say the projects span key areas including education, infrastructure, justice administration, governance, healthcare and human capital development, demonstrating a focus on broader socio-economic growth in the state.

In preparation for the visit, the Adamawa State Police Command has deployed personnel and operational assets to various parts of the state to ensure security and maintain order.

Commissioner of Police Morris Dankombo said units including the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad and Crowd/Traffic Control Unit will work together to ensure public safety before, during and after the president’s visit.

State authorities have also appealed to residents, regardless of political affiliation, to remain law-abiding and to turn out in numbers to welcome the president, highlighting Adamawa’s renowned hospitality and unity.
