President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday visited Jos, Plateau State, following a deadly attack in Jos North Local Government Area that left at least 28 people dead and 22 others injured.
Tinubu, accompanied by senior federal officials, was received by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, traditional leaders and heads of security agencies.
The visit aimed to assess the security situation and show support for affected communities.
The attack triggered outrage and heightened tensions, prompting authorities to tighten security, including the temporary imposition of a curfew.
Ahead of the visit, the Plateau State Government urged residents to remain vigilant.
“We are optimistic that ongoing interventions will help restore lasting peace,” the government said.
Tinubu is expected to meet victims, review security efforts and coordinate further response measures.
