The government of Togo has announced visa-free entry for citizens of all African countries for stays of up to 30 days, in a move aimed at boosting regional integration and easing movement across the continent.
The policy was announced by Togo Ministry of Security in a statement shared on its official X account on Tuesday.
Under the new arrangement, African travellers with valid passports can enter Togo without a visa for short visits not exceeding 30 days.
The ministry said the decision reflects the country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation, mobility and economic ties within Africa.
Authorities, however, noted that visitors will still be required to complete an online travel declaration at least 24 hours before arrival in order to obtain a travel clearance slip.
The government described the policy as a major step towards making Togo a hub for openness and opportunities in Africa.
The move follows similar visa-free initiatives introduced by countries including Rwanda to encourage easier travel among African nations.
In a related development, the government of Nigeria has also begun implementing a 30-day visa exemption policy for citizens of Rwanda entering the country.
