Nigeria has set a new global milestone after achieving the record for the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats concert, according to Guinness World Records.
The record was achieved by Dapper Live and a group of performers during the Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience held in Lagos on December 16, 2025.
Guinness World Records confirmed that an 85-piece orchestra performed during the concert, making it the largest orchestra ever used for an Afrobeats show.
The performance took place at the Balmoral Eko Convention Centre, where Afrobeats music was presented with full orchestral arrangements, blending classical instrumentation with contemporary African rhythms.
The orchestra was conducted by musicians from the Perfect 4th Ensemble, while producer Bazzman Sam served as the musical director, arranging Afrobeats songs for orchestral performance.
Several artists performed with the orchestra during the concert, including T.I Blaze, TML Vibez, Bhadboi OML and Lasmid.
Fuji music icons Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika also joined the performance.
The project was conceived by Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who said the initiative aimed to showcase African music on a larger global stage and push the creative boundaries of live Afrobeats performances.
Organisers say the Trench Symphony production is expected to expand into a tour across several Nigerian states before moving to international cities in Europe and North America.
The record marks another milestone in the global growth of Afrobeats, a genre that has increasingly gained international recognition through large-scale concerts and global tours by African artists.
