The U.S. Mission in Nigeria has warned that visa overstays by Nigerian travelers could affect opportunities for others seeking to visit the United States.
In a post on its official X account on Monday, the mission said compliance with visa rules helps protect access for students, business travelers and families who travel responsibly.
It added that visa abuse undermines legitimate travel opportunities and urged Nigerians to adhere strictly to immigration requirements.
The mission also encouraged the public to report suspected visa fraud to designated email addresses provided by its Foreign Fraud Prevention units in Abuja and Lagos.
