VDM and Mr. Jollof Apologize for Mid-Flight Clash

Social media influencers Martins Vincent Otse (VDM) and Freedom Atsepoyi (Mr. Jollof) have apologized for a physical altercation aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos on Monday, November 17.

Both were handed over to airport security after the brawl and later issued separate statements expressing remorse.

Mr. Jollof spoke first in a video on Instagram, apologizing to the airline, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and passengers.

“I was only defending myself… This isn’t my kind of person. It will never happen again,” he said.

VDM’s statement followed, admitting the fight escalated from a long-running online feud.

“We allowed an unnecessary online disagreement to spill over into a public space, and that was totally unacceptable,” he said.

The NCAA is reviewing the incident, which occurred during boarding. Its Director of Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, reiterated the agency’s zero-tolerance policy for unruly behavior. Both individuals may face fines or no-fly restrictions once the official report is received.
