The Administrative and Finance Committee of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has expressed strong confidence in the management of its Nigeria National Office, backing its leadership amid ongoing union-related engagements.
The decision followed WAEC’s 240th meeting held in Ibadan, where the committee praised the performance of Head of National Office, Amos Josiah Dangut, for what it described as efficient leadership and institutional discipline.
The committee said the management team had ensured the smooth conduct of the ongoing 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), despite recent labour concerns.
It passed a formal vote of confidence in the leadership, saying it remained satisfied with the operational management of the examination body.
“The Committee commends Management for sustaining stability, professionalism, and uninterrupted examination processes across Nigeria,” the statement said.
WAEC added that its operations remain stable nationwide and assured candidates, parents, and education stakeholders that the examination process will continue without disruption.
The committee also urged all parties to avoid actions capable of undermining the council’s credibility, while reaffirming its commitment to staff welfare, transparency, and industrial harmony.
