Wike Defends PDP Convention Plans

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says going to court does not mean he is opposed to ongoing processes within the Peoples Democratic Party.

Wike said consultations have been held with key stakeholders, including a state governor, although further engagements are still expected.

He insisted there is no reason to halt the planned convention, noting that preparations are almost complete.

According to him, arrangements at the venue, including seating for delegates and VIPs, are progressing, with attendance expected to be around 2,500.

Wike also dismissed claims that the scale of the venue or ceremonial elements would influence outcomes, stressing that votes come from party members across the states.

He, however, declined to speak in detail on political alignments, urging observers to wait for the outcome of the party primaries.
