Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims of an alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), describing the report as false and politically deceptive.
Wike made the remarks on Thursday while speaking with journalists during an inspection of ongoing road projects in the Gomani–Yangoji area of Kwali Area Council, Abuja.
He said there was no known agreement between the PDP and APM, insisting that neither the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nor the parties involved had any official record of such a coalition.
“There is no alliance between PDP and Allied Peoples Movement or any other political party. INEC also knows that there is nothing like a PDP–APM alliance,” he said.
The minister accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of promoting what he called a “political 419,” alleging that the narrative was being used to advance personal presidential ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to him, internal activities within the PDP, including ongoing screening processes for aspirants, show that the party is still operating independently and has not entered into any coalition arrangement.
“What you have is Seyi Makinde joining APM to actualise his presidential ambition, which is already dead on arrival,” Wike said.
He further stated that claims linking the PDP to any alliance were baseless, adding that the party’s presidential candidate would soon be made public and formally submitted to INEC.
Wike also dismissed suggestions of internal crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying such matters remain internal party affairs.
