Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has commended security operatives for recovering 329 cattle and 175 sheep from bandits in Gambanda Forest, Gummi Local Government Area.
In a statement on Saturday, the governor praised the Violence Crime Response Unit of the Zamfara State Police Command for what he described as renewed and encouraging efforts in the fight against banditry.
He said the police engaged and overpowered the bandits during the operation, leading to the recovery of the livestock, as well as weapons and ammunition.
Lawal commended the resilience and bravery of security personnel, saying their efforts underscore their commitment to protecting the livelihoods of residents in the state.
He also praised the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammad Bello, saying it has strengthened public safety operations and improved the fight against criminal groups.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in efforts to restore peace and security across Zamfara State.
