Public Affairs Analyst, Jimi Disu says that Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has brought the institution to ridicule.
Disu was reacting to news of a rift between the Central Bank and the Independent National Electoral Commission after Emefiele filed a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja over the alleged plan to disqualify him from the presidential primary for 2023 scheduled for the end of May.
The Daily Digest host questioned the decision of Emefiele to run as President while still being Governor of the Apex bank?
‘’He has not even been bold enough to say I want to run, why would you want to run for President and still be Governor of CBN?’’ he asked.
In Disu's opinion, Emefiele's actions is indicative of how he would run Nigeria if given the chance.
The Public Affairs Analyst also added that the President’s silence is aiding these irregularities.
‘’The sad part is the body language of our President, I don’t believe he is complicit. At the same time, he is not reassuring anybody.’’
Recall that on Monday, the court threw out the Central Bank's Governor's request to restrain INEC from interfering with his Presidential ambition.
