The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has unveiled its governorship candidate, Sowore Robert, and senatorial candidates ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that the party can provide an alternative to the state’s dominant political forces.
At a gathering of party leaders and supporters in Lagos, Accord formally presented its governorship candidate alongside contenders for the state’s three senatorial districts, marking an early start to its campaign preparations.
Party officials said the decision was aimed at giving candidates enough time to engage voters and present their vision for governance.
They also urged residents to support what they described as a movement focused on accountability, economic development and inclusive leadership.
Speaking at the event, party leaders said the candidates were selected based on competence, integrity and their commitment to public service.
According to the party, the unveiling demonstrates its readiness to challenge for power in Lagos and expand its political influence ahead of the elections.
One of the party leaders said Accord was determined to offer Lagosians “credible leadership” and a platform that would address the concerns of ordinary citizens.
The governorship candidate pledged to run an issue-based campaign and promised to focus on infrastructure, job creation, education and security if elected.
“We are prepared to serve the people and provide responsible leadership,” Robert said.
Party officials also called on members to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilization across the state.
They maintained that the 2027 elections would provide Lagos voters with an opportunity to choose leaders based on performance and vision rather than political tradition.
