Bode George Warns INEC, Predicts APC Defeat in 2027 Elections

Chief Olabode “Bode” George, a senior figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says widespread hunger and hardship in Nigeria could play a major role in the 2027 general elections, and he warned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the election body Independent National Electoral Commission against unfair conduct.

Speaking on Friday at an event in Lagos where new PDP leaders were inaugurated, George said many Nigerians are unhappy with the current situation in the country.

He said if the APC tries to rig the 2027 polls, “Nigerians will shock them.”

He added that Nigerians, tired of hardship, could surprise political leaders at the ballot box in two years.

George called the APC a “coalition of strange bedfellows” and accused it of pushing the country toward unfair politics.

He warned that his party and other opposition groups would resist any attempt to manipulate the elections or choose party leaders for opposition groups.

“In PDP, INEC cannot choose our leaders for us. Opposition parties will resist this irresponsible behaviour,” he said.

He also criticised a recent local election in the Federal Capital Territory, calling the process “shambolic and mismanaged,” and saying security agents interfered with voting by firing tear gas and moving ballot boxes.

George stressed that the PDP has undergone a rebirth since its national convention in late 2025 and remains strong across Nigeria from north to south.

He urged party members to stay loyal and work hard toward winning back power in 2027.

His comments reflect rising political tension in Nigeria as parties prepare for the next major national election, with hunger, hardship and fairness at the centre of public debate.
