
The Nigerian government has announced that Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, will be observed as public holidays to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha.
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced this in a press statement on Monday on behalf of the government, extending congratulations to all Muslim faithful both within Nigeria and abroad.
He emphasized the importance of embracing sacrifice and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
The minister also encouraged the Muslim community to use this time to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria, assuring citizens that President Bola Tinubu's reforms and initiatives are designed to put Nigeria back on the path to progress.
In his message, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished the Muslim Ummah a joyful Eid-ul-Adha and called on all Nigerians to support the administration's efforts to restore Nigeria's glory.
The announcement was officially signed by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the interior ministry's Permanent Secretary.
