Chelle Presents 19-Point Contract Request Ahead of Extension Talks With NFF

Insider reports from the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) say that Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has submitted a 19-point proposal as part of contract-extension talks.

The reports claim that the Franco-Malian, who led the Super Eagles to their ninth Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Bronze medal in Morocco 2025 last January, submitted the demands on 22nd January 2026, just after the tournament ended.

According to the letter of the report published by NFF insider Shina Oludare, Chelle asked for improved working conditions and pay.

The proposal reportedly seeks a salary rise to $130,000 a month, housing in a secure area, a chauffeured SUV with security, a furnished analysis office with internet to prepare for matches, and guarantees of technical control over player selection and match scheduling.

Chelle’s salary demands are believed to cover himself, his backroom staff and a personal assistant.

Chelle also wants better scouting access and structured camping programmes for youth development, so that he can integrate young players into the National team.

The proposal has drawn attention because it arrived while foreign clubs were also linked with the coach.

The NFF is still in talks with the coach, but it is believed that their decision to continue with Chelle will be influenced by their financial and operational capacity, rather than being influenced by his performance, which the whole country is happy with.
