JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Mop-Up Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up exercise conducted for candidates affected by technical issues, absentee cases and other approved circumstances.

JAMB announced that 96,838 candidates sat for the mop-up examination held nationwide and said results have now been made available through its official result-checking channels.

Outgoing registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, said the exercise was designed to ensure fairness and give affected candidates another opportunity to participate in the admission process.

According to the board, some results are being withheld pending investigations into suspected examination malpractice and verification procedures.

JAMB said candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” as a text message to the designated phone numbers linked to their registration profiles.

The board stated that institutions and candidates should rely only on official JAMB platforms for admission decisions and score verification.

In its statement announcing the release, JAMB urged candidates to remain patient with post-examination processes.

The board said, “Candidates whose results have been released are advised to proceed with other admission procedures.”

It added that cases involving irregularities would continue to undergo review before final decisions are made.

The release of the mop-up results brings another major stage of the 2026 admission cycle to a close as candidates await updates on admission cut-off discussions and tertiary institution screening processes.

JAMB said it remains committed to “transparency, fairness and the integrity of the examination process.”
