Lagos Education Board Announces Registration for 2026 Model Colleges Entrance Examinations

The Lagos State Government has officially opened online registration for the 2026 Screening Test into Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools across the state.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education said the registration started on Monday, 19th January 2026, and will close on Friday, 15th May 2026.

The move is ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.

Eligible candidates are Primary Six pupils from both public and private primary schools in Lagos State.

According to the statement signed by the Lagos State Examinations Board Registrar, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, all parents, guardians, school owners, and head teachers are expected to complete the registration process online through the Board’s official portal.

The Screening Test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) format and is tentatively scheduled to take place from Wednesday, 27th May to Friday, 29th May, 2026, at designated test centres across the state.

Orunsolu said the registration fee has been set at ₦10,000.

He also noted that applicants of Lagos State origin are required to upload a valid Lagos State Indigeneship Certificate as part of the registration process.

The Registrar urged all stakeholders to carefully follow the registration guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.

He said the state government remains committed to transparency, merit, and high standards in the admission process into the state’s Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.

Parents, guardians and school administrators have been encouraged to visit the Lagos State Examinations Board portal to complete registrations and download any necessary forms and guidance.
