Lagos Police Arrest Suspected Criminals After Alimosho Hideout Raid

The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested several suspected criminals during a raid on a known hideout in the Alimosho area as part of ongoing efforts to curb violent crime across the state.

The operation was carried out by officers acting on intelligence about criminal activities in the community.

Police said the raid targeted a location believed to have been used by suspects involved in robbery and other offences.

According to the command, the operation forms part of a wider security strategy aimed at denying criminals safe havens and improving public safety.

Police said the command "remains committed to sustaining intelligence-led operations to rid Lagos State of criminal elements" and assured residents that similar raids would continue in areas identified as crime hotspots.

The suspects are being screened and investigated, while officers continue efforts to identify and arrest other members of the group who escaped during the operation.

Police said anyone found to have committed criminal offences would be charged in court after investigations are completed.

The command also appealed to residents to support security agencies by reporting suspicious movements and activities.

It urged members of the public to "remain vigilant" and continue providing "timely and credible information" that can help prevent crime and lead to more arrests.

Lagos police have stepped up intelligence-driven operations in recent months, conducting raids on criminal hideouts and black spots across different parts of the state.

The command says the operations have led to the arrest of hundreds of suspects, the recovery of firearms, ammunition and other items linked to criminal activities, and have strengthened efforts to improve security in Nigeria's commercial capital.
