The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has extended the deadline for filing individual annual income tax returns to April 21, 2026.
The agency says the decision follows increased demand on its electronic filing platform, which led to an earlier extension from March 31 to April 14.
According to LIRS, the latest shift is to give taxpayers more time to complete their filings without disruption.
It described the new date as a final extension and urged residents to take advantage of the extra time.
The agency also reminded taxpayers that filing annual returns is a legal requirement under Nigerian law.
It stressed that submissions must be made through its eTax portal, which remains the only approved channel.
LIRS warned that failure to comply could attract penalties, urging eligible residents to file promptly.
