Air Force Says It Killed 2,351 Terrorists in 2025 Operations

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says it killed 2,351 suspected terrorists in 2025 during a nationwide air campaign that included 274 air interdiction missions and 379 combat sorties.

The operations targeted terrorist camps, supply routes and training sites across the North-East, North-West and North-Central regions.

According to the statement, the interdiction missions alone logged about 800 flight hours and delivered coordinated strikes on hostile locations.

In the Niger Delta, the NAF said air strikes destroyed “hundreds of illegal refining reservoirs, 126 storage tanks, and several boats” linked to oil thieves, disrupting criminal revenue networks and boosting oil output.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, said the results reflect growing “precision, effectiveness and lethality” in air operations, driven by improved intelligence, aircraft availability, crew proficiency and deeper coordination with ground forces.

He warned that criminal elements will “find no safe haven anywhere within our borders.”

The NAF said operations also included surveillance, close air support and armed reconnaissance beyond the interdiction strikes.

It pledged to sustain pressure in 2026 while insisting missions are conducted under rules designed to protect civilians.

The statement urged Nigerians to share information that could aid security efforts.
