Super Eagles Confirmed for Four-Nation Invitational in Jordan

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been confirmed to participate in a Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in Amman, Jordan, during the next FIFA Men’s International Window in March, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced this week.

The mini-tournament will bring together four national teams — Nigeria, Iran, Jordan and Costa Rica — as part of preparations and competitive action during the March break.

According to the NFF, the Super Eagles — three-time African champions and bronze medallists at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations — will open their campaign against Iran on Friday, 27th March 2026, at the Amman International Stadium, which has a capacity of 17,000 spectators.

1On the same day, tournament hosts Jordan will face Costa Rica at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, which can hold more than 60,000 fans.

The competition continues on Tuesday, 31st March when Nigeria will play Jordan at the Amman International Stadium, while Costa Rica and Iran meet at the larger venue.

Organisers are expected to confirm kick-off times for all matches in the coming days.

The invitational tournament comes as the Super Eagles await a ruling from FIFA over their protest against DR Congo’s alleged use of ineligible players in the African play-off final for the 2026 World Cup.

A decision could affect Nigeria’s participation in the remaining World Cup qualifying path.

Nigeria’s inclusion in the Amman event offers quality opposition from other international sides, including Iran — who are preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup where they are drawn in Group G alongside Belgium, Egypt and New Zealand.

The tournament serves both as competitive exposure and tactical preparation under Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who may use it to integrate new players and test squad options ahead of future challenges.
