President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to former Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun following the death of her husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, who died in Lagos at 62.
Anthony Adeosun died Wednesday, 5th August 2026, according to a statement issued by Rev. C.A. Adeosun on behalf of the family.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” the family said.
The family described the deceased as “a distinguished businessman and a devoted Christian” whose “integrity, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew him.”
“He lived a life defined by hard work, service to God, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community,” the statement added.
Tinubu, in a condolence message issued Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, sympathised with Adeosun, her family, friends and business associates.
The president described Anthony Adeosun as a devout Christian whose dedication to charity and support for less privileged people had touched many lives.
“The President condoles with the Adeosun family, friends and business associates over the loss, urging comfort in the legacies of steadfast faith, community service and charity that the devout Christian left behind,” Onanuga said.
Tinubu also prayed for strength and comfort for the former minister and her family and asked God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, their children and siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
The family said funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced later.
It also thanked those who had offered prayers and condolences and asked for privacy as the family mourns.
