Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has appealed to Nigerians for financial support to raise ₦30 million for three urgent life-saving surgeries after spending three weeks in hospital.
The actress made the emotional appeal in a video shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, saying her medical condition had worsened beyond what she and her family could handle.
"My people, my fans and my family, I know that you've not seen me in circulation for some time.
"I've been hospitalised now for three weeks.
"Please, the thing has gone beyond my control," Nwosu said.
A tearful Nwosu pleaded with supporters not to abandon her during what she described as one of the most difficult periods of her life.
"I need your help.
"Don't let me die.
"I know that you people never forsake me.
"I'm begging you, my fans and family, don't let me die because I am going through a lot, as in pain," she said.
The actress disclosed that she needs three surgeries and appealed to well-wishers to contact her management if they wished to contribute toward her treatment.
"Please don't let me die.
"If there's anything you want to do for me, please contact my management.
"They'll be there for you.
"Thank you.
"God bless you," she said.
In a message accompanying the video, Nwosu said asking for help publicly was difficult but necessary because of the urgency of her condition.
"My fans, friends, family and colleagues, this was really hard for me to do, but I can't keep quiet anymore.
"I need urgent life-saving surgeries.
"Please don't scroll past.
"Share this post and support if you can," she wrote.
She said the total cost of the surgeries is ₦30 million and prayed for those who support her, saying, "God bless you and may you and yours never experience this affliction."
