Wolves Condemn Racist Abuse Against Tolu Arokodare After Match Loss

Nigerian footballer Tolu Arokodare was the target of racist comments on social media after Wolverhampton Wanderers lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace in a Premier League match.

The comments came after Arokodare missed an early penalty in the game.

Wolves said the messages were “abhorrent and unlawful” and showed them to the public to prove how bad the abuse was.

The club’s official statement said there is no place for racism in football, online, or anywhere in society.

They also said they have reported the posts to social media platforms, the league, and the authorities so that the people responsible can be found.

The 25-year-old striker also spoke out on his own social media account.

He said it was “unbelievable” that people could send such racist messages without facing consequences.

He added that those who send hateful messages should not be part of the sport and called for action against them.

Arokodare is one of several players in the English league who have been racially abused online recently.

Other clubs and players have also condemned similar behaviour, showing that racism in football remains a serious problem.

Wolves said they will stand by Arokodare and continue to fight discrimination in football.

They stated that all players deserve respect and support from fans everywhere.
