Guardiola Dismisses Exit Rumours, Says He Will Stay at Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from the club at the end of the season, insisting he remains committed to the Premier League champions.

Guardiola spoke on Friday ahead of Manchester City’s FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

The Spaniard has faced growing speculation about his future despite signing a contract extension that runs until 2027.

Reports in recent weeks had linked former City assistant Enzo Maresca with the managerial job should Guardiola leave early.

But Guardiola made it clear he has no plans to walk away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

“I am not leaving at the end of the season,” Guardiola said.

“I have one more year on my contract and I will stay.”

The 55-year-old described his time in English football as enjoyable and successful, saying he still has the energy to continue managing City.

“I still have incredible energy.

"I still feel so good coming here to work,” Guardiola said.

Guardiola joined Manchester City in 2016 and has turned the club into one of Europe’s most successful teams.

Under him, City have won multiple Premier League titles, domestic cups and the UEFA Champions League.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final, Guardiola also joked about his many visits to Wembley Stadium during his time in England.

“This place is a cathedral,” he said.

“Maybe one day they will name a part of Wembley after me because I come here a lot.”

Manchester City are chasing another trophy after a difficult season in which they lost ground in the Premier League title race and exited the Champions League earlier than expected.
