Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has named a 25-player squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendly matches against Cameroon as preparations continue for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
According to a statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Communications Department, the list includes team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and forwards Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo.
The matches will be played in Yaounde, with the first game scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, and the second on Tuesday, 3rd March 2026.
The squad also marks the return of Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, who plays club football in Canada, and Gift Monday, now based in the United States.
Both players were absent from Nigeria’s last major outing.
England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor received her first-ever call-up, while defender Chidinma Okeke, who plays in Mexico, also returned to the team.
Midfielder Precious Christopher, based in Tanzania, earned her maiden invitation.
Several regular players retained their places, including defenders Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Ashley Plumptre, and midfielders Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, and Jennifer Echegini.

The NFF said the friendlies are part of preparations for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco from 17th March to 3rd April 2026.
The federation noted that all four semifinalists at the tournament will qualify directly for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, raising the stakes for the Super Falcons, who are 10-time African champions.
