Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 67th career hat-trick as Al Nassr defeated Al Kholood 5-3 in an entertaining Saudi Pro League encounter on Thursday night.
The 41-year-old Portuguese superstar struck three times in just 15 minutes, scoring in the 66th, 72nd and 81st minutes after having two earlier efforts ruled out for offside.
His compatriot Joao Felix also delivered an impressive performance, providing four assists as Al Nassr secured all three points.
The hat-trick took Ronaldo's reported career tally to 985 goals for club and country, leaving him just 15 goals away from becoming the first player to reach 1,000 officially recognised senior career goals.
Ronaldo now leads long-time rival Lionel Messi by 49 goals.
Messi has scored 936 career goals for club and country and recorded 62 career hat-tricks, compared with Ronaldo's 67.
The figures highlight the extraordinary goalscoring records both players continue to build.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward continues to defy expectations at 41, maintaining his goalscoring form as he pursues a milestone that would further cement his place among football's greatest players.
The performance came just a day after Ronaldo's 2008 Ballon d'Or-winning campaign was voted the greatest of all time in a special online poll celebrating the award's 70th anniversary.
