Super Falcons Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie Joins Brighton Women in Historic WSL Move

Super Falcons first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has completed a high-profile transfer to Brighton & Hove Albion Women, marking a significant milestone in her flourishing career and for Nigerian women's football.

The 23-year-old joins the English side from Paris FC Féminines in the French Division 1, where she made her name as one of the most promising goalkeepers in Europe.

This move makes Nnadozie the first Nigerian female goalkeeper to sign for a Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) club—solidifying her role as a trailblazer for African women in football.

Her success in France with Paris FC saw her rack up over 100 club appearances and back-to-back Champions League qualifications. She was also one of Nigeria’s standout performers at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, including a crucial penalty save against Canada.

Speaking on the signing, Brighton Women’s head coach Dario Vidosic praised Nnadozie's experience and leadership qualities:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club. She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line.”

Nnadozie joins a growing list of Super Falcons stars playing in elite European leagues, and her arrival is expected to significantly boost Brighton’s backline ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Though she hasn’t yet released a personal statement, the goalkeeper is expected to speak to the media once pre-season begins.
